GET INVOLVED

ATTEND A CONCERT!
Amy Goodman has called him "the musical version of Democracy Now!" David Rovics will perform October 29, 2011, at 7 p.m., in a benefit concert for anti-NATO/G8 organizing, at the Charlie Chaplin Theater, St. Augustine College, 1345 W Argyle. JOIN A NEIGHBORHOOD PEACE GROUP
There are local peace and justice groups in many Chicago neighborhoods. Below are some of the groups that endorsed the October 8 march. Check them out and meet some like-minded folks in your local community!

CONFRONT THE POLITICIANS
There are opportunities to interact with local, state, and national-level politicians all the time. But how often do we focus attention on the questions that are important to us? Isn't it time to start?

From now on, turn your discussion with politicians into an antiwar discussion. Tell them that this election will be a referendum on their ability to get us out of these wars. Every time they hear "election 2012," they should be thinking "Afghanistan, Afghanistan, Afghanistan." And if they can't get us out ... they're gone!

PREPARE FOR MAY 2012
NATO and the G8 meet in Chicago in May 2012. Virtually every peace and justice organization is preparing to protest. Start a conversation with others in your community: how does the NATO/G8 meeting in Chicago affect you?

What will you be doing to make a difference?

Saturday, December 10th, 2011, is International Human Rights Day. Chicago World Can't Wait will lead a group of individuals and organizations in dramatizing U.S. human rights violations and publicizing the upcoming worldwide protests of the 10th anniversary of the Guantanamo Bay Detention center on January 11th, 2012.  There will be a screening of The Response on December 11.

Coming off our experience at the 2012, 2013, and 2014 Chicago Air and Water Shows protesting against drone killing, drone surveillance, and related acts of militarism, I am more confirmed than ever in my view that air shows are a very effective place to get our message out to the public.
